Workouts this week

I posted the updated workouts for this week. They are the same as last week. I’m already planning and looking forward to them.

Please note: the zoom link is updated on my website. However, I think you might need this password to join. It is 588424. Since we haven’t had any issues yet (fingers crossed), I will not install the waiting room. If we have issues…I will install it. Please don’t give this out to any of my high school students who love to play pranks. 🙂

Get out and enjoy the sunshine and wonderful weather this week. My girls and I made an obstacle course on the sidewalk for everyone that walks by. I encourage you to do the same if you have little kids!

Be Fit. Be Happy. Be Safe.

Tuesday Tabata- 5:30 Tonight

Don’t forget to join me at 5:30 tonight for a heart pumping workout!

You have all been doing so well and really working at staying fit and healthy during our quarantine. Keep it up! Don’t forget to comment here with any ideas or suggestions you have for classes. You can email me too.

Suggested weekly workout routine:

Monday: Something fun to start the week: Weights, walk/run, or some virtual classes: yoga, dance, spin

Tuesday: Tabata with Melissa

Wednesday: Low impact workout – (walking, yoga, spinning, weights)

Thursday: Tabata with Melissa

Friday: Rest Day – Relax and let go of stress from the work week. Enjoy a home made meal and your favorite adult beverage (assuming you are old enough to drink:). It’s important to NOT over train, especially if you want to keep your immune system in tip top shape to fight the Coronavirus.

Saturday: Boot Camp with Melissa

Sunday: Rest day or low impact/weight day.

Be Fit. Be Happy. Be Safe.

How much is too much?

First, I would like to remind everyone that we will be meeting for class (on Zoom) at 9:30 Saturday morning. Please bring a set of weights, water, a towel and a family member if you want. While I wish we could be at the gym, seeing you guys so often is really helping the time pass.

In the meantime, this is a great article about how much exercise is too much. We want to get our bodies in the perfect shape to fight off this virus and I thought this article might shed some light on the topic. Enjoy.

Feeling Grateful

Thank you for a great showing this morning. We had 25 people in the class today! I still can’t believe we got this up and running. I am so grateful for each of you for motivating me to continue working out and trying new things. It is because of you all that I am really enjoying this Shelter in Place. 🙂

As I stated this morning, I am overwhelmed with the generosity of this group. I will be donating all of the money raised from here on out to the CDC. I am waiting until the end of our “lockdown” to donate all at once so that Mike’s work, Dell, will match. Some people have chosen to donate a lump sum all at once and some are donating per class. Any way you donate is great. Please know that this is not mandatory to participate in class; it is optional. All I care about is that for 45 minutes to an hour, you get to break a sweat, de-stress, build muscle and endurance, feel the camaraderie of our amazing group, and forget about the current situation we are in.

Be Fit. Be Happy. Be Safe.

Next classes:

  • Tuesday, March 24 @5:30 PM – Tabata
  • Thursday, March 26 @ 5 PM – TBD
  • Saturday, March 28 @ 9:30 AM – Boot Camp
